Golden Pothos
Golden Pothos
Lo and behold, the beautiful Golden Pothos. This traditional indoor houseplant is a staple in most homes. It's native to southeastern Asia so it is a tropical plant. These babies have been propagated and cared for by me. Each plant comes in a four inch pot.
Plant Care:
Humidity: These plants prefer an environment between 40-60%. Most households are between this range so a humidifier should not be needed.
Water: Let this plant get between 50-75% dry. I would suggest using a wooden stick, or dowel to measure potting media moistness. During the spring and summer months, use a liquid/slow release fertilizer to encourage plant growth. The brighter the light you give the plant, the more frequent you will water.
Soil: Use a well draining potting mix. These babies will come in a orchid bark, horticultural charcoal, pumice, perlite, peat moss, and leca mix. This plant will come in a four inch pot and should be fine for a minimum or 6 months.
Light: This plant naturally climbs on trees in shade. Place the plant so it can see the sky, but sun rays do not directly touch the leaves. This is what is described as bright indirect light.
Support: Pothos varieties love to climb. They climb in their natural habitat. Giving your Pothos something to climb is not necessary and will be happy as a trailing plant. If you do decide to give it a moss pole, this plant will fenestrate it's leaves. (Moss poles also available.)
